Description:

Stipe flesh white, dull orange, then black. Pileus with fine, erect, conical, black scales. Tubes and pores light gray, staining dull orange then black. Stipe 4-5.5 cm long, 10-13 mm broad, equal, coarsely reticulate to subalveolate at apex, with scabers associated with reticulum, floccose pubescent below, black, with interior as in pileus.
Habitat:

Wet sclerophyll. Syncarpia hillii. Gregarious. On living tree bark.
