Description:

See REH 9253. Pileus 3-6.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, covered with erect, fine, black pyramidal warts, with pale gray flesh showing between warts, with sterile projecting margin with black flattened felty warts on exterior, white on interior. Flesh white, soon changing to reddish orange, then black. Tubes adnexed, white to grayish white, becoming dark gray, staining orange then black. Stipe 4-7 cm long, 8-12 mm broad, equal, curved or strict, dry, dark brown to black, coarsely reticulate above, covered with a fine lanose to matted velar remnants, with interior white, solid, soon changing to reddish orange then black, brownish gray at base.

Sclerophyll. Eucalyptus, Allocasuarina. Scattered. On sand.
