Lucas, 2025: "Mueller never visited Port Lincoln, but many specimens collected in the environs by Carl Wilhelmi were acquired by Mueller and included in the material sent to Sonder in Hamburg and listed and described in the Linnaea series Plantae Muellerianae by Sonder and other authors. This has created much confusion in herbaria around the world as they acquired specimens form sets sold by Sonder on behalf of Mueller, or given freely after Mueller became Government Botanist of Victoria in 1853. MEL has several specimens from the area attributed to Wilhelmi."]
