Description:

Pileus 36-67 mm, convex becoming nearly plane; dark brown, densely matted subtomentose, occasionally fibrillose-scaly, especially at disc. Context white, staining red then black; odor faintly farinaceous; taste bitter. Hymenophore poroid; pores angular, 0.75-2 mm in diameter, dark brown, tubes concolorous. Stipe 38-72 x 5-17 mm, solid, +/- equal, brown, lacunose, minutely pruinose. Context.
