Description:

Pileus 4-8 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, finely matted, becoming very finely subsquamulose areolate, light cinnamon brown (6D4) to pale brownish gray, bruising red then black. Flesh white changing to reddish orange, with mild odor and bitter taste. Hymenophore adnexed, pale yellowish white (4A2) becoming grayish yellow (4C-D5,4), staining blue green then red, ultimately black, with pores less than 1 mm broad. Stipe 3.5-7.5 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, dry, glabrous-streaked above, obscurely and irregularly ridged, overlain with a fine pruina above, heavier pruina below, white to yellowish white, staining blue then red then black, with interior white, solid, changing to bluish green then red then black? Spore print pale chocolate brown. Pileipellis pale cinnamon brown in KOH, with elements lightly encrusted with hyaline encrustations.
Habitat:

Dry sclerophyll. Allocasuarina, Eucalyptus sp. Gregarious. On soil.
