Description:

Pileus 4-9 cm broad, convex to plane, dry, matted felty with obscure flattened warts, grayish orange (6B5,4) becoming brown to dark brown, sometimes with white flesh showing. Flesh white, changing to gray to dark gray to brown with barely a hint of orange in the stipe when exposed. Odor and taste mild. Tubes adnate to adnexed, white at first, soon becoming gray, staining orange then black. Stipe 5-7 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, equal, slightly curved, dry, coarsely reticulate, white with a pale brown to gray brown reticulum, with fine floccose material adherent to reticulum, with matted subtomentose, tobacco brown basal tomentum, with interior white, with rare patches of orange then gray to black oxidation, solid.

Dry sclerophyll. allocasuarina sp. Scattered. On soil.
