Description:

Pileus 4-7.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex to plane, dry, subtomentose to matted subtomentose, cinnamon brown to caramel brown to grayish orange (6D7, 6C5, 6B5). Flesh light yellow (2A5), or rarely pale yellowish white under pileus surface, unchanging, or rarely, very slowly cyanescent. Lamellae decurrent, close, broad, vivid yellow (3A7) at first, becoming olive (3D5), developing reddish brown spots in situ with age, with even edges. Stipe 3.5-6 cm long, 8-12 mm broad, equal or tapering downward, strict or curved, dry, cinnamon brown to caramel brown at apex with darker brown scabers/squamules, pale yellow to light yellow or rarely orangish yellow below and subtomentose to matted tomentose to base; interior bright yellow, unchanging, solid. NH4 – blue green on pileus and flesh, and stipe apex.
Habitat:

Dry tropical forest. Quercus oleoides, Pinus caribaea. Scattered. Sandy soil.
