Description:

Pileus 4-11 cm broad, obtusely convex to convex to plano-convex, dry, finely squamulose, erect to suberect on disc, repent toward margin, pinkish brown to pinkish tan, soon brown to black. with sterile appendiculate veil at margin, soon disappearing. Flesh white to gray, changing to dark gray to black with only a hint of pale reddish. Tubes adnate, white, then gray to black, staining reddish then black when bruised. Stipe 4-7.5 cm long, 7-15 mm broad, equal, strict or curved, dry, coarsely reticulate to sublacunose, with scant appressed lanose to felty veil remains, with interior white, changing to orange near the base, then black.
Habitat:

Sclerophyll. Allocasuarina sp., Eucalyptus sp. Gregarious. On soil.
