Description:

Pileus 3.5-6.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, appressed squamoluse scaly, densely so on disk, scattered on margin with pale grayish white showing between scales, with age the scales coalesced and more or less uniformly matted appressed; margin sterile and appendiculate. Flesh white, then deeply obscure reddish orange, then black. Tubes adnexed, pale gray to gray then black, staining red then black. Stipe 4-6 cm long, 7-15 mm broad, strict or curved, equal with a slight taper at the base, dry, reticulate to subalveolate-reticulate, this part ridgid to felty and pale gray to gray to black, with interior white then red to black, with white basal mycelium. Tough textured in the base.

Sclerophyll. Allocasuarina, Eucalyptus. Gregarious. On soil.
