Description:

Gregarious. Pileus 7-9 cm broad, convex, dry, coarsely squamose scaly, subpyramidal on disc, subrepent toward margin, deep red to pinkish red with dull yellow between scales. Flesh yellow, immediately blue when exposed, then appearing white and blue, with mild odor and taste. Hymenophore deeply depressed to barely adnate, up to 2.5 cm deep, greenish yellow, cyanescent, with pores 1 mm broad. Stipe 5-7.5 cm long, 10-15 mm broad, equal, curved, dry, pink to pale red at apex and somewhat so downward, white below, fibrillose striate, bluing when bruised, with interior pale yellow, cyanescent, white at base.
Habitat:

Dry sclerophyll. Allocasuarina sp., Acacia sp., Eucalyptus sp. On soil.
