Description:

Pileus 25-45 mm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, delicately and finely fibrillose scaly (under a lens) otherwise appearing matted subtomentose, irregularly cinnamon brown (6C-D-E6) on disc, dirty pale yellow (4B4) at margin. Flesh yellow, cyanescent, 10-15 mm thick, with mild odor and taste. Hymenophore tubulose, adnate to barely subdecurrent. Tubes shallow (2-4 mm long), greenish yellow (3B-C5), cyanescent; pores concolorous, cyanescent, 1 mm broad. Stipe lateral to eccentric, curved, 4-8 cm long, 10-15 mm broad, either tapering downward or slightly broader below, tomentose to subtomentose, dry, pale greenish yellow (nearly concolorous with hymenophore), developing brown stains in situ and seemingly slowly brown when handled in places; interior solid, pale brown, unchanging; with white basal mycelium. NH4 vapors on pileus greenish blue, orange at point of application; (-) elsewhere.
