Description:
subcespitose. Pileus 3.5-7.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, matted, grayish red to reddish brown to brownish red to (9C-D-E7,6,5). Flesh pale yellow, bluing when exposed, then fading to white with a bluish gray cast, with mild to pungent odor and mild taste. Tubes adnexed, yellow, cyanescent, 1 cm long; pores red (9D6), cyanescent, exuding translucent yellow liquid when young. Stipe 4-5 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, equal, dry, coarsely reticulate to subalveolate, deep brownish red (9D-E8) with hint of yellow at apex when young, with white basal mycelium, with interior pale yellow, cyanescent then fading as in pileus. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
