Description:

Pileus 3 cm broad, convex, dry to tacky, glarous, whitish to pale yellow (2A3), developing pale wine red stains with handling. Flesh pale yellow, unchanging when exposed, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate and yellow (unchanging) with portions continuous down stipe forming a coarse reticulum. Stipe 7.5 cm long, 9 mm broad, curved, dry, coarsely reticulate, yellow above, paler below and developing red stains toward base from handling, white at the base, with interior pale yellow, unchanging.
Habitat:

Pinus, Dipterocarpus costatus, turbinatus, obtusifolius. Solitary. On soil.
Feature Notes:

This is not the same as the smooth, gray-capped B. russellii from Japan.
