How to request a map

Map requests should be emailed to Liz at egjieli@nybg.org

Please include:

• purpose of map (publication, presentation, exploratory spatial data analysis, etc.)
• map type and quantity of maps, if applicable (new species distribution, species range, area of occupancy and extent of occurrence calculations, niche modelling, etc.)
• all occurrence point data must be provided, in decimal degrees coordinates preferred. Ideal format is as a CSV with latitude and longitude values in separate columns where column headers do not contain spaces
• color preference: gray-scale or colorized map
• GIS layer preference: terrain data, aerial imagery, hydrography data, basic political subdivisions only, land use, soil type dataset, etc.
• approximate date needed (please allow at least 2 weeks from date of request)

if >10 georeferenced occurrence localities are required to fulfill the map request, funding may be requested
