Peru. Madre de Dios. Los Amigos field station, on the Madre de Dios River near mouth of the Los Amigos River. Primer Mirador Trail, near junction with Segundo Mirador Trail.

Description

Tree, 20 m x 80 cm. Bark fissured, the slash reddish, the outer bark 3-5 mm thick, the inner bark, ca. 10 mm thick, reddish. With buttresses to 3/4 meter. Leaves when torn show frayed edges because of protruding tertiary veins. Old fruits on ground but too rotten to collect. Sterile. [DNA]. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
