city of Salvador, 3km NE of Itapoà.
Dunes of white sand, in a distance of
1-2km from the shore. Open tree&scrub
woodland with xeromorphic or semisucculent
leaves. Some trees up to '4m, mostly
Clusiaceae,Ericaceae,Bignoniaceae,
Rubiaceae,Leguminosae and others.
Low palm's with large underground-trunks ,
terrestrial Bromeliaceae&Orchidaceae ,
small Velloziaceae, Cactaceae and
succulent Euphorbiaceae frequent.
Valleys sometimes overflood, ma inly
covered with Cyperaceae,Eriocaulaceae
and Lentibulariaceae.
Some vines and no epi’phytes.
