Description
Pileus 8-9.5 cm broad, convex, tacky to subviscid, somewhat matted under gluten, dark brownish red (9D-E8,7) paler toward margin with some yellow. Flesh pale yellow, slowly and erratically bluing, then appearing whitish, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, dull greenish yellow, cyanescent, with pores a very dull and pale orange, cyanescent. Stipe 4.5-8 cm long, 2 cm broad, subclavate to broadly clavate, dry, bright yellow at apex, pale orange yellow to pinkish yellow below with more pronounced but pale red toward base, pale yellow at base, with interior yellow, staining blue, sometimes erratically and slowly. (perhaps near Halling 8982).
