Dry thickets over Jurassic chert. Locally common on steep E facingcliffs (G. Proctor estimates 50 plants).

Shrubs with erecty branches, leaves held erectly. flower white (with pink tinge at tip); fruits brown. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
