Description
Spontaneous from seeds, the seedlings abundant. Erect herbs with single stem, the main stem triangular, with conspicuous spinose wings sparingly branched in upper portion with ascending and then spreading branches, the branches also triangular but generally without spinose projections on the less prominent wings. Corolla white; anthers dull orange-brown with purple at tip. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.

Plants recognized by a neighbor, a native of Nigeria, even when the plants small and before blooming; said to be used in Nigeria as a pot herb but the fruits not eaten; he recognized the local weed Solanum ptychanthum as a similar type of plant but not the same as the one known in Nigeria.
