    Montane cloud forest. Quercus rapurahuensis, Q. copeyensis. Gregarious. On soil.

  • Description

    Pileus 1-2 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, sometimes becoming slightly depressed on the disc, subviscid, soon dry, finely matted subtomentose to glabrous, bright yellow (3A6,5) when young, duller yellow orange (5B5-5C5) with age. Flesh . Hymenophore subdecurrent to decurrent, radially tubulose (boletinoid), deep reddish brown (8F7), then cocoa brown (6E7), not bruisng when bruised; pores concolorous. Stipe 2-4 cm long, 3-7 mm broad, equal, curved or strict, dry, heavily pruinose above, floccose to matted floccose below, pale and dull reddish brown above, bright sulphur yellow toward the base, with bright yellow basal mycelium.
