    Marsh in short turf or among taller vegetation. Disturbed woodland on sand with outcrops.

  • Description

    Procumbent to ascending stoloniferous herb with trailing stems rooting occasionally at the nodes. In tall vegetation stems ascending to over 1 m. high. Stems pale green tinged pink. Leaves very pale green, paler beneath, dull. Flowering stems becoming erect, peduncles erect. Bracts green, calyces pale green tinged pink, becoming pinker in fruit, and later dark brown. Calyx tube with ring of white hairs concealing nutlets. Corolla white with horizontally elongated red dots on upper lip. Anthers dark. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
