Waltheria) indica Linn, is a synonym and is the name used by most authors for the species; however, Waltheria americana Linn, has priority and should be retained. The species is com- mon and widely distributed in the Philippines, occurring as a weed in the open country of the settled areas at low and medium altitudes.
