(16°15'S;62°35'W) 500 to 900m. Chain of
hills, precambrian shield; humid forest at
base, low dense scrub at midslope and open
savanna on ridge tops.
Epiphytic, climbing trees and crawling on
the ground, densely pubescent rhizome
covered with orange hairs, evidently
completely sterile; fronds to 2m x lm.
Abundant in humid forest.
