Tropical evergreen forest on level areas near
Base Camp, most trees slender, soil infertile.
Vine on small treelet, woody, to 5 m. tall,
the slender stem to 2 cm in diameter. Mostly
sterile; flowers tubular; corolla bright red
but green toward tip. Immature fruit green.
