Description
Pileus 6-8 cm broad, plano-convex, dry, pale pink then pale brown with pale pink at margin, with very fine and scattered appressed brown squamules, these sometimes forming areolate patches. Flesh white with pale pinkish under pileus surface, yellow above tubes, unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Tubes yellow to pale greenish yellow, cyanescent, barely adnexed to almost adnate, with concolorous and cyanescent pores. Stipe 3-4 cm long, 1.5-2 cm broad, equal to tapering downward, dry, pale yellow at apex, white below, with dull red spots overall, with some more red toward base, white at base, with interior solid, whit to pale yellow, unchanging, dull red around larval tunnels.
