    Caespitose perennial; innovations extravaginal from the apex of short stout naked rhizome; foliage mainly basal and senescent on flowering culms; foliage not equitant; inflorescence purplish and green, glaucous. Chromosome # 2n= about 30; with meiotic abnormalities. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
