Description
Heads of flowers of Packera aurea based on S. A. Mori et al. 27940 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve, Westchester Co., New York. The heads (= capitula), which are inflorescences by themselves, are grouped together in a pattern that may help in the identification of species the family Asteraceae. The stalk of each head is called a peduncle.
