    Entered May 2011. This herbarium is based in the Ituri Forest. It has been developed to be a herbarium of reference for research in biodiversity and plant conservation, flora and tropical botany, forest ecology studies of DR Congo protected areas. The herbarium collection contains a number of endemic species and important collections of little-known areas of botanical diversity importance (Inselbergs and Edos (salines). It is the only herbarium devoted to the study of the DR Congo protected areas flora, and has been active in updating and providing recent collections from DR Congo during the last two decades. This herbarium is also active in developing a "National Strategic Plan for Plants Conservation" and working with IUCN for the Red Data Listing in DR Congo.
