A close cousin of the color rubrum, coccineum (Latin for scarlet) is sure to turn the heat up. Unfortunately, the flowers of the scarlet pimpernel (Anagalis arvensis) are more of a tangerine than scarlet, and its formal Latin name doesn't derive from coccinium (arvensis is Latin for "of the field").
