As countries make more efforts to reduce carbon emissions, there is a need for more sustainable or lower-pollution alternatives to petroleum-based fuels. Biofuels can be made from plants, either by creating alcohol by fermenting starchy plants like corn or sugar cane, or by creating biodiesel by refining oil that is naturally occurring in fruits or seeds.
