¹ The New York Botanical Garden received the herbarium of Wabash College (Crawfordsville, Indiana) in 1987. You may notice smoke damage on some of the herbarium specimens. This happened at Wabash College when an accident occurred while drying plants, causing a plant press to smoulder. The smoke penetrated the herbarium cabinets, damaging some of the mounted specimens [Brittonia 46(3): 211-224. 1994.].
² Please road trip responsibly. Collecting permits are needed in national parks.
