spore length: 14 microns; spore width: 8 microns; spore shape: ellipsoid, truncate with an apical pore; spore texture: smooth; spore color: purple brown; spore print color: black. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Coprinus comatus.
