Description:

Herb, ca. 10 cm long. Plants in patches with scattered culms connected by rhizomes.Fertile culms erect, infl. at apex of culms, the male part about and the female part below. Scales brown with translucent margens and sometimes down the middle of the scale. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Understory of deciduous forest. Common in scattered patches everywhere.
