Small herb, Leaves 3 in a whorl, each leaf with 5 leaflets, each leaf gree tinged with maroon, more intensely so abaxially (below). Fls 2.5 cm diam. Tepals white, filaments white, the anthers whiter. Ovary superior, apocarpus. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

In deciduous forest, near stream in wet soil.
