Description:

Tree ca 10 m tall, the trunk arching, ca 30 cm diam, the upper 1/4 branched; bark grey, furrowed, the ridges forming longitudinal, somewhat scaly plates; main branches drooping; short "sucker" branches emerging laterally from main trunk from near the base into the canopy; flowers zygomorphic, the receptacle green, the perianth brown; anthers black (past anthesis); stigmas white, glistening. Two other trees of this species and nearly the same size are growing nearby on the same river bank. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
