Description:

Tree, 6 m x 8 cm. Trunk uneven. Bark smooth, without conspicuous lenticels. Male catkins just beginning to open, arising from stems, 2-2.5 cm long, pendent, the anthers red. Female catkins associated with leaves, the stigmas red. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Edge of late secondary deciduous forest.
