Description:
Shrub to small tree 2 m tall, the main stem ascending; bark purple/brown, smooth with prominent lenticels; flowers yellow. Several trees of various sizes thriving here. Also thriving is a large Nyssa sylvatica tree ca 25 cm diam.

Habitat:
Low, wet forest consisting of native (Nyssa sylvatica, Acer rubrum, Lindera benzoin, Symplocarpus foetidus, Podophyllum peltatum) and spontaneous exotic (Ailanthus altissima and Aralia elata) species.
