Description:

Planta anual de hojas caducas pubescentes y flores blancas solitarias. El jugo de todos sus órganos produce irritación de los ojos, quemazón en la boca y garganta, descenso en la respiración, contracción del bazo, hipertensión, hipotensión y convulsiones. Esta especie crece en terrenos húmedos, sombreados y pedregosos en Puerto Rico. Está distribuida en América Tropical y el Viejo Mundo. Annual plant, of caduceus pubescent leaves, and white and solitary flowers. The juice of its organs produces irritation of the eyes, mouth, and the throat, difficulty in breathing, contraction of spleen, hypertension and hypotension, and convulsions. This species grows in humid, shaded, and stony terrains in Puerto Rico. It is distributed in Tropical America and the Old World.
