Description:
Species Description - Plants medium-sized, to 7 cm tall, pale to olive green. Leaves wide-spreading to spreading, often twisted when dry, frequently deciduous (and presumably acting as asexual propagula), linear- lanceolate, 3-5(7) x 0.5-0.7 mm; margins incurved, serrulate above, limbate by 2-3 rows of elongate hyaline cells above (but not reaching apex), 10-16 rows toward insertion; cells oval to oblong, 7-18 X 4-6 µm, thick-walled, not lengthening toward margins and thus contrasting markedly with cells of limbidium, extending almost to leaf base, pluripapillose; alar cells enlarged, ± inflated, reddish. Sporophytes not seen.
