Description:

Species Description - Dorsal and lateral leaves contorted and sometimes loosely falcate when dry, oblong or oblong-ovate, ± gradually narrowed to a short, slender acumen; margins ± sermlate above; upper cells oblong-hexagonal, about 4-5:1, those at the margins not or sometimes narrower. Ventral leaves oblong-lanceolate, gradually and slenderly acuminate, with cells longer (4-8:1) and thinner-walled.

The dorsal and lateral leaves are somewhat narrower and somewhat longer-tipped than those of var. amphibola. The upper cells are somewhat longer and those at the margins are not or only somewhat narrower. The ventral leaves are lanceacuminate and rather long-celled.
