Description:

Genus Description - Plants epiphytic or epilithic. Rhizomes long-creeping, often slender, covered with scales and roots. Fronds monomorphic or dimorphic, simple; blade sparsely pubescent, with scales or glabrous; veins free or reticulate, generally with an enclosed free veinlet when reticulate. Sori round or elongate, generally in a row on each side of the midrib, located at ends of free veinlets; indusia absent; paraphyses present or absent. The genus is considered by some authors to be a synonym of Polypodium.
