Description:

Species Description - Shrub or tree to 6 m tall; young parts strigillose. Leaf blades 15-35 x 8-13 cm, elliptic or oblong-elliptic, chartaceous, glabrous, except for a few hairs on veins, main veins slightly raised on lower surface, the apex acuminate or acute, the base cuneate or obtuse, the margins entire or slightly wavy; petioles 2-4 cm long. Flowers sessile, in cymes with spikelike branches. Sepals awl-shaped, ca. 1 mm long, pubescent; corolla white, trumpet shaped, the tube 2-3 mm long, the lobes reflexed, triangular, 0.5-1 mm long; stamens included; ovary conical-bilobed, the style short. Fruit nearly globose, 4 mm diam., fleshy, yellowish to white.
