Using the reference map and Google Earth, located the approximate location of Floresta Nacional do Amapá, which is located within municípios Ferreira Gomes, Pracuuba, and Amapá; Pracuuba being the municipality that covers the largest area of the National Forest of Amapá (50.30%), followed by Ferreira Gomes (43.49 %), and Amapá (6.21%), according to the Floresta Nacional do Amapá website. To display the polygons of the specified municípios of the Forest on Google Earth, used the "Brazil divisions, Level 2" GADM Boundaries shapefile (http://www.gadm.org/). Able to make out the exact shape of the Forest boundaries using the município polygons on Google Earth; used the Placemark Tool to pinpoint the approximate geographic center of the Forest. Used the Ruler Tool to measure from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the Forest. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the Floresta Nacional, 69839.45 m), and measurement error (.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Bounded Area).)
