Brazil. Maranhão. Loreto Mun. "Ilha de Balsas" regio, between the Rios Balsas and Parnaíba. Fazenda "Morros": ca. 6 km. S of main house, or ca. 30 km south of Loreto. "Baixo do Cipó" along brook called "Grota das Colvarinhas". Alt. 300 m. (984 ft.)

Description:

Flowers white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Forest along tributary brook to the creek, "Riacho da Picada". Flat land, trees to 15 m. tall with trunks to 30 cm. d.b.h.. Almost continuous shade. In some places dense shrubs 1-3 m. tall. Ground layer small shrubs & grass, ca. 70% cover. [See label for further habitat description.].
