Location:

Mexico. Colima. Comala Mun. Rancho El Jabali, 22 km (airline) NNW of Colima in the SW foothills of the Volcán de Colima. Colima/Jalisco line passes through ranch. W side of Lago Epazote, flat areas at foot of hills above lake. Alt. 1350 m. (4429 ft.)

Description:

8 m high tree, dbh 15 cm; fls. clear (light) purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fertile.

Habitat:

Natural vegetation humid montane (cloud) forest, but partially cleared for pasture, etc. Grassland, with Raphidiocladon, Calliandra, Montanoa & Ficus. Clay soils on steep volcanic slopes and alluvial flats.
