Habitat:

Rhyolite knob with frequent small glades and xeric igneous woodland. With Ulmus alata, Carya ovata, Carya tomentosa, Pinus echinata, Quercus stallata, Juniperus virginiana. On shaded rhyolite boulder, with Flavoparmelia baltimorensis, Myelochroa obsessa, Porpidia albocaerulescens.
