Location:

Brazil. São Paulo. Itirapina Mun. Ca. 7km west of RR crossing at city of Itirapina, along road to Brotas. Alt. 750 m. (2461 ft.)

Description:

Flowers 4cm diam., corolla purple, anthers bright yellow. Shrub 0.7-1½m tall. (This specimen from plant 2, which was 1½m tall, spreading, with several stems from base). Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.

Habitat:

Xeromorphic shrubby "cerrado" along roadside, not grazed. (In the primitive state this area was probably covered with "cerradao" woodland).
