Brazil. Bahia. Serra do Sincorá. 3-13km W of Barra da Estiva on the road to Jussiape. Alt. 1000 - 1300 m. (3281 - 4265 ft.)

Description:

Spiny shrub to 2m with few stems. Stems and spines yellowish fawn. Corolla palest lilac with golden yellow stamens. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Low grassland with scattered woodland and small streams on white quartzite soils, with occasional sandstone ridges.
