Description:

Tree to 3m with spines on trunk and branches. Leaves crowded to ends of shoots, grey-green above, paler beneath with slightly yellowish hairs. Calyx grey-green. Corolla palest lilac. Anthers dark yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Disturbed and cut-over caatinga transitional to Mata de Cipó, and associated roadside vegetation.
