Description:

Shrub to 2.5m with spreading branches. Young stems pale green with orange indumentum. Leaves bluish grey undulate. Sepals dark, bright purple. Corolla deep bluish purple on outer surface, sky blue within. Anthers golden yellow. Young fruit glaucous. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Western face of sandstone serra with horizontally bedded rocks. Extensive grassland & marsh on lower slopes and small streams with low woodland. Rock outcrops at high altitudes, with humid forest in rocky declivity below summit. This plant growing among rocks on open hillside.
